OVERVIEW
Cathodic protection is a corrosion control technique that involves applying a direct current to the metal surface to shift its corrosion potential towards a more electronegative (cathodic) state. This prevents or reduces corrosion by suppressing the anodic reactions responsible for metal dissolution.
