Corrosion mapping is a Non destructive technique which maps material thickness using ultrasonic techniques. Variations in material thickness due to corrosion can be identified and graphically portrayed for the in-service detection and characterization of corrosion in pipes and vessels.

Thermography involve the measurement or mapping of surface temperatures as heat flows to, from and/or through an object. The simplest thermal measurements involve making point measurements with a thermocouple which will give the component that is getting heated up due to friction.

The testing principle is based on the generation of a distinctive ultrasonic signal by using a transmitter which is placed inside the compartment to be tested. Through reflection, the ultrasounds generated by the transmitter will fill up the cargo hold. Ultrasounds passing through sealing arrangements, cracks, holes etc. can easily be picked up and measured by the ultrasonic receiver equipped with a handy flexible sensor.
